Jason Reno works with a tendency toward natural elements and their affects on the function or utility of structures and marks made upon the landscape, but his is a response that is less rational, less defined. It is an exploration of the making process in which the possibility of a material is expanded through inquiry. Each object is a proposal to look beyond a materials assumed use, giving rise to expanded potential.
Through an aggravated weathering process, many of these relics become foreign. The skin has been pulled away, revealing the bone. The original products typical function is abandoned.
